In a recent development, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) has expressed his support for the Protecting Americans From Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act. Kean emphasized the significance of this legislation in safeguarding Americans from potential threats posed by foreign adversaries, particularly highlighting concerns over the Chinese Communist Party's influence on applications like TikTok.

"It is Congress’ duty to safeguard the privacy and security of our citizens in the digital realm," stated Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. regarding his decision to vote YES on H.R. 7521. He clarified that the aim of the bill is not to outright ban TikTok but rather to compel the app to sever ties with the Chinese government to avoid facing prohibition in the United States.

Expressing optimism about the bipartisan support garnered by the bill, Congressman Kean noted, "I am encouraged that the bill received overwhelmingly bipartisan support."

The Protecting Americans From Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act has been lauded as a crucial step towards enhancing national security and protecting American citizens from potential risks associated with foreign-controlled applications.
